Dear Reader,
Today, I am going to discuss a principle that has been quoted I believe first time by Robert Kiyosaki in his bestseller Rich Dad Poor Dad. The Be Do Have principle. Since then, it has been widely used by others as well who are active in the field of personal development and training.
BROKE
A lot of failures have to do with lack of persistence, lack of motivation. There is a sad statistic that says that around 97% of people by the age of 65 are either dead or dead broke...
But at the same time, in the US, 8 million people having a net worth of over 1 million usd. Did you know that 600.000 became millionair last year. About 400,000 households have a net worth of over 10 million usd.
What are these people doing differently? And why are so many people currently waking up to a new paradigm?
They apply the Be-Do-Have principle!
STORY
An old friend once told me that in order to become a millionaire you first need to be like one.
I never really understood that until I started to study wealth.
When we are kids, parents and teachers teach us all kinds of things. And a lot of things are actually being said to us to exercise some kind of control. First, you must work hard in school and study (DO), then you will get a good job (HAVE) so that finally you can become a rich man (BE).
What's wrong here?
The activity of the child (working hard at school) is 'poisoned' with a feeling of lack and neediness. Conventional thinking teaches us that we are not even 'allowed' to think about being rich unless we study hard and get a good job first. How can you stay motivated, go the extra mile, how can you take the right decisions in later life to actually become rich. The feeling of lack is very disempowering. Many people compensate for this by identifying themselves with the subject they are studying: this creates all the broke scientists, broke teachers and broke writers. Others give up the hard work and settle for an existence, doing something simple...
That's why so many people stay broke all their lives... They either did not have a dream, or they gave up on their dreams or they completely forgot about their dreams because they focused so much on Doing and Having...
METHOD
If you can visualize and feel yourself in the role of being a rich and successful person, your actions and decisions will become such that they will favor wealth. Because you attract who you are, not who you want to be. Just imagine yourself having dominant thoughts around success, wealth all day long rather than thinking about broke or debt. Your actions, vocabulary, voice etc will be different as well which is not an accident but a logical observation of how thing actually work. Your ways of working, ways of talking are all finding their origins in your brain where you most dominant thoughts are. Fix these thoughts and you will see incredible results.
ROLE MODELS
The easiest way?
Simply take on the role of already being successful, wealthy, a good parent, whatever you feel you deserve to be in your life. Now, your brain doesn't accept lies so in case you haven't made it yet, the easiest way is to get familiar with a person on this planet already in that role. Any time you need to make a decision, ask: what would Larry Ellison do? Or, how would I approach this challenge if I were Tiger Woods?
Now start to act and don't worry about the results, they will follow as a natural cause.
(If this is all new for you, please go ahead and watch the movie 'the secret' on http://www.thesecret.tv).

EXERCISE
Write down a problem you have been wrestling with over the last couple of weeks. Now, decide who you want to be. Study the lifestyle and ways of someone you admire and who is a role model for you. What kind of house, job, car do they have, how do they talk. Then, every night before going to sleep, visualize yourself as if you are your role model and aks the question: how would I decide and act to reach this goal or tackle this problem? You will be amazed how many creative impulses you will get next morning.
